The emergence of AI has prompted a significant amount of scientific research into its potential applications in education, including both promising developments and harmful impacts. The purpose of this publication is not to add yet another scientific paper to the ongoing debate. <\/span><\/p>\n

The aim is much more modest: to review the literature from the perspective of a foreign language teacher trying to understand how our field is changing so rapidly. And synthesise the findings to make it easier for other educators to navigate this vast landscape. <\/span>See if this publication may serve you as a useful starting point at the outset of this journey.<\/strong><\/strong><\/p>\n

Most foreign language teachers already use AI in some way, often without realising that there are many other possibilities that could significantly enhance their teaching.
