I’d like to share a learning path developed by our Italian partners in Theatre & Digital Storytelling project aimed at involving students with cognitive and physical disabilities into an exciting learning experience. The idea is to help them capture and share with their peers a glimpse from their real life via personal digital devices.
I can see many features of Connected Learning approach in this scenario. The students are really engaged and interested in the whole process giving them a unique opportunity to communicate a piece of their life experience to others. The work is supported by caring adults and addresses trends in their peer culture. It is production-oriented and enhanced with technology as the final result of the learning path is a creation of a personal digital story. It raises a number of skills and competences a student needs to perform well in school, among others: confidence, communication, social and organisational abilities.
The learning scenario is well documented and illustrated with videos, can be downloaded from here.
